Dear Fellow Alumni,
The Lord Is Risen! Hallelujah!
No fate I dread, I know I am forgiven,
The future’s sure, the price it has been paid,
For Jesus bled and suffered for my pardon,
And He was raised to overthrow the grave.
To this I hold, my sin has been defeated,
Jesus now, and ever is my plea,
O the chains are released, I can sing, ‘I am free’,
Yet not I, but through Christ in me.
“Yet not I but through Christ in me”! How amazing and how wonderful this truth is because of the death and triumphant resurrection of Jesus the Christ, the Son of the living God!
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives, all fear is gone,
Because I know, I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living, just because He lives.
Indeed, because he lives, I have complete assurance that the living Christ will enable me to face all my tomorrows! Hallelujah!
Let’s go forth today and every day, to live in the light and hope of Jesus’ resurrection!
To this I hold, my hope is only Jesus,
All the glory evermore to Him,
When the race is complete,
Still my lips shall repeat,
Yet not I, but through Christ in me.
