As we continue navigating through the transformative years of 2018 to 2025, SBC is committed to achieving a pivotal goal: to provide an excellent holistic theological education. This vision encompasses cultivating a Christ-like community that embraces both online and onsite learners, and champions the highest standards in formal, non-formal, and informal education. To live out this vision, SBC is focused on two key initiatives.
Initiative #1: Enhancing Our Learning Environment
Central to SBC’s campus transformation is the renovation of the library, which last underwent renovation over 20 years ago. This project seeks to raise $2.7 million, with $1 million already secured through donations. These funds will allow us to create a vibrant space that supports theological study and intellectual engagement among students, faculty, alumni, and the broader Christian community.
We aim to create a hub for collaborative learning by enhancing the traditional concept of a library. Beyond quiet reading and studying spaces with technological access, we will also be providing a flexible activity space for less formal group discussions and more formal academic dialogues. We invite your support to complete this vision and make this communal learning space a reality.
Initiative #2: Streamlining Our Administrative Processes
Simultaneously, SBC is the advancing the 1LJSr (1 Learner, 1 Journey, 1 SBC renewed) initiative. This focuses on academic and student management, and also administrative support efficiency through technological upgrades. This move is designed to enhance security and integration, and harness overall operational effectiveness, supporting SBC’s educational mission. With a budget of $700,000 for this upgrade, $400,000 has been raised. The remaining funding gap presents an opportunity for additional support.
(Please note that the figures of raised funds are updated periodically on the SBC website.)
Partnering with Us Now to Shape the Future
These two initiatives will be critical for SBC in the post-pandemic, fast-changing, and unstoppable evolution of our technologically-driven world. We need to stay relevant and connected with the current generation of students to achieve our vision of fostering a holistic and Christ-like educational environment.
By supporting the library renovation and the 1LJSr program, you will play a direct role in shaping the future of theological education at SBC. Additionally, we also invite your participation in ensuring that the welfare of SBC’s dedicated faculty is appropriately supported, as this will also be essential for maintaining the quality of education and mentorship that SBC stands for.
As SBC moves forward, we know that the support and partnership of our community are invaluable. Together, we aim to nurture a new generation of leaders who are well-equipped for spiritual formation and God’s mission, marked by godly character and ministerial competency. We invite you to be part of this meaningful journey, contributing to projects that will not only advance theological education, but also strengthen the bonds across our community.
